Divisions and their rules
A division is the category a crew races in: its make-up, boat size and age rules. The app checks each crew against it and warns you, but never stops you.
Keep the club’s list
Clubs › Manage your club › Default divisions holds Divisions this club enters. Festivals take their divisions from it.
Add one to a festival
In Set up festival, open Divisions and tap Add a division, then From the club’s list or New division. The festival keeps its own copy: editing it changes nothing in the club’s list, and nothing in another festival.
Set the rules
Composition is Open, Women or Mixed. Set the Boat size, the Crew size and the Boat combination, which is the gender numbers. Leave the minimum and maximum age blank and age isn’t checked.
Under Advanced
Advanced holds the Template the rules were copied from, Lineup publishing requirements, whether the drummer and the steersperson must qualify or are Exempt, a Para share, and survivor divisions: Breast cancer survivors or All cancer survivors.
Rule sets
A festival’s own rules, such as when age is counted and racing on more than one crew, are under Rules on its Divisions page. A new festival starts on the Festival rule set. The others are IDBF, IDBF CCWC 2026, EDBF, Pan Am PACCC, DBC, DBC CanAm Club Crew and USDBF Club Crew Nationals. Verify with the event bulletin marks a value that isn’t confirmed yet.
Racing on more than one crew
Under More than one crew, a festival’s rules set two checks. Everyone on a crew counts, subs included. A class is a division and its make-up, such as Premier Mixed; boat size isn’t part of it. Two crews in one class can be Allowed, which still warns because the races may be scheduled together; Not in both the standard and the small boat, an error only when someone races one class in both sizes; or One crew per class, an error for any second crew. Two age classes can be Allowed, Warns, An error, or Warns unless next to each other. Next to each other means side by side in the rule set’s order of age classes, such as 18U, 24U, Premier, Senior A, Senior B, Senior C, Senior D. So Senior A with Senior B is fine and Premier with Senior B warns. A special or custom division is next to none of them.
Warnings, not blocks
A crew that breaks a rule shows an issue, such as Under the age, Gender numbers short or Heat clash. A warning never blocks a save. Once you’ve checked one, tap Acknowledge.
